Dr. Ahmed bin Salawudeen, Chief Executive Officer, Standard Insurance Consultants Limited
At a prestigious hybrid ceremony held in Oxford, England and accessed online, on March 25, the Academic Union Oxford (AUO) conferred an honorary professorship on Dr. Ahmed bin Salawudeen and other distinguished individuals.
Dr. Salawudeen is the President of Standard Group of Companies, a diversified multinational business group with interests that cut across different sectors of the economy.
He is a successful Chartered Insurance Practitioner and Real Estate Investment Adviser.
According to a statement issued by Dr. Vincenzo Costigliola, Honorary President of AUO, Dr. Salawudeen was chosen to receive this distinction for “his role in uplifting professional and ethical standards in broker/insurer relationships, support for systematic continuous professional development (CPD) programs insurance, grooming of generations of executives, and championing of the economic role that risk-carriers play in national prosperity.”
The recipient has also been a key contributor to the insurance industry in West Africa, having served on several professional committees, advised regulators in different capacities, and participated as a speaker at numerous local and international conferences.
He has also written extensively and featured in several media programs on issues related to Insurance, Reinsurance, Loss Adjusting and Claims Management.

He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London, a Fellow of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and a Fellow of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).
He received a Doctorate of Management (Specialization in Finance) from the Commonwealth University.
He is also a Fellow of the Commonwealth Academy of Leadership and Management.
Dr. Salawudeen is a Melvin Jones Fellow of the Lions Club, a global volunteer organization.
He is a full member of the Global Club of Leaders, and an Honorable Member of the European Business Assembly (EBA) under the auspices of The Socrates Committee in Oxford, United Kingdom.
An unofficial roving ambassador for Nigeria, Dr. Salawudeen is a tireless advocate of the country’s opportunities to foreign investors. He has travelled all over the world wooing business partners to invest capital in Nigeria by setting up operations here.

The honorary professorship title was established by Academic Union, Oxford with the support of the Club of Rectors of Europe as a symbol of credit and expression of honor to people, who have actively promoted social and intellectual progress of modern society, integration and empowerment in the fields of science, culture, and business, economy.
The conferring institution, Academic Union Oxford is an international academic association of over 350 university Chancellors, scientists and researchers. As a body, it is committed to disseminating its core values through its worldwide community.
